The Education Department offers one undergraduate program and three Master of Education Programs. All programs in Education lead to New York State dual certification in general education and in special education after successful completion of all program requirements, workshops, and state examinations. Graduates of Wagner's Education Program are successful and action oriented educators well regarded in the field.
Programs Offered:
Undergraduate Bachelor of Arts in Childhood Education /Students with Disabilities Grades 1-6- 36 units. The undergraduate major in Education is a dual major and students select a focus area/major 2 in Psychology or Theater.
A minor in Educational Studies, is available for students who have a general interest in education but may not wish to teach or who prefer to pursue teaching certification at the graduate level, is also available.
Students complete field and student teaching hours at partner schools and have the opportunity to hone their skills as professionals by closely collaborating with experts in the field. In addition, teacher candidates engage with stakeholders from the community to grow as well rounded professionals in order to impact students' success.
Graduate Programs Offered:
The Department offers three M.S.Ed. degree programs: Childhood Education/ Students with Disabilities Grades 1-6 leading to initial certification, Adolescent Education /Students with Disabilities Grades 7-12 Residency and Non-Residency Option leading to initial certification, and Early Childhood Education /Students with Disabilities Grades Birth- 2 leading to advanced certification. The Education Department is nationally accredited by AAQEP.

All graduate programs lead to dual certification.
All education students/teacher candidates must maintain a GPA of 3.0 and receive a B or higher in all education courses.
Admission Requirements:
Transcript evaluation, interview, and a GPA of 3.0.
